Honoring Immigrant and Visible women who are doing work in our community

IWSO Community Awards
Nomination Guidelines

The IWSO Community Awards recognize the exceptional voluntary or paid contribution given by individuals or groups who make a real impact by providing support to immigrant women and children to be safe, to realize their goals and to address issues that arise when immigrant women and children settle in Ottawa.

Award Categories

Nominees will automatically be nominated for both categories.

Community Leader: Someone who has made a significant contribution to supporting immigrant and visible minority women and children in the Ottawa community.

The first twenty-one community leaders will be provided with one ticket to the gala and an opportunity to receive a pedicure, manicure and hair at Algonquin College prior to the gala.

Outstanding Community Leader: Someone who has been consistently working in the last ten years to support immigrant and visible minority women and children in the Ottawa community.

The three people/groups chosen as Outstanding Community Leaders, in addition to receiving the same as the community leader, will be acknowledged at the gala through a video presentation.
