IWSO is excited to announce that we have been selected to receive vital funding of $200K as part of the Government of Canada federal support of women’s organisations in Ottawa. We will continue to support, empower, and serve women. Mechthild Meyer, IWSO Board Chair and Mercy Lawluvi, IWSO Executive Director were both in attendance at the function with Minister McKenna.

“Like the many strong women who come to us for help, we want to be as independent as possible, and this requires financial security. Our plan to diversify our funding and close the salary gap for our staff can finally move forward now that we have support from the federal government. We are grateful for their help and expect the outcome of this investment to make a significant difference in the lives of our devoted and dedicated staff, all of whom are immigrants, refugees or minority women,” Mercy Lawluvi said.
